Tri Remesh - Rebuild avatar meshes as even triangles without losing shape (weights, shape keys, UVs kept / auto-tuned match rate / symmetry)
상품 설명
Same shape, even triangles, and your avatar data still attached.
Tri Remesh is a Blender add-on that rebuilds meshes such as avatar bodies as near-equilateral triangles laid over the original surface. Bone weights, shape keys, UVs and custom normals move to the new mesh, so it goes straight back onto the avatar and your original textures still fit without repainting. Use it to prepare a base for sculpting or detailed edits, for cloth and physics setups, or whenever you need an even polygon density.
FEATURES
- Even triangles: near-equilateral triangles laid over the original shape
- Count, size or accuracy: set a triangle count, an edge length, or an allowed deviation
- Fine where it matters: tight curves such as fingertips and ears get smaller triangles (Detail 0-100%)
- Auto-tuned match rate: measures how much of the original surface is within tolerance and refines only where it misses
- Symmetry (X): mirror-symmetric triangle layout; each side still follows its own shape, even if the arms are posed slightly differently
- Keep Open Edges: neck-hole and cuff vertices stay put, so split head / body parts still meet without gaps
- Estimate before running, and remesh several objects at once (triangles shared by surface area)
KEPT ON THE NEW MESH
- Bone weights (vertex groups), with an optional 4-bone limit for Unity
- Shape keys: names, offsets, slider ranges and relative keys (tested on a face with 231 expression keys)
- All UV maps, so the original textures still line up
- Custom normals, vertex colors, materials, the Armature modifier and parenting
MEASURED (MANUKA body, 15,826 faces -> 29,068 triangles)
- 99.99% of the original surface within 1 mm, max deviation 1.6 mm
- About 24 seconds (Ryzen 5 5600, Blender 4.5)
REQUIREMENTS
- Blender 4.2 or newer (tested on 4.4 and 4.5)
- Windows / macOS / Linux. No VRChat SDK needed; it runs inside Blender only
INSTALL
1. Blender: Edit > Preferences > Get Extensions
2. From the dropdown at the top right choose "Install from Disk" and pick tri_remesh-1.0.0.zip
3. In the 3D Viewport press N and open the TriRemesh tab
NOTES
- The original object is only hidden, never deleted; the result is a new object
- Modifiers other than Armature are not applied (the base mesh is used)
- Turn Symmetry off for shapes that are not symmetric, such as hairstyles
- Surfaces stacked closer than a triangle (layered hair cards) may not be fully separated
- About 20-30 seconds for 30k triangles, depending on Auto Passes
- UI in English and Japanese (follows Blender's interface language)
CONTENTS
- tri_remesh-1.0.0.zip (Blender extension with README_en.md, README_ja.md and LICENSE.txt)
LICENSE
- GPL-3.0-or-later. Blender add-ons are distributed under the GPL, so you receive this add-on with the same freedoms as Blender itself (full text in LICENSE.txt)
- Meshes you make with it (avatars, outfits) are yours to use, distribute or sell, following the original model's own terms
