OutFitter Profile Maker - Build outfit conversion profiles for any Humanoid avatar in Unity

A Unity Editor extension that generates the avatar profiles OutFitter uses to convert outfits.

Profile Maker takes your avatar, measures its body and bones, and writes a full two-way conversion profile: config JSON, avatar data, pose data, deformation fields (NPZ) and a quality report. Once your avatar has a profile, OutFitter can convert outfits between it and every other registered avatar.

For avatars that ship without a profile, for your own original avatar, for edited or VRoid bases.

WHAT IT DOES

- Manuka / Shinano / both - no model or outfit of the other side needed. It generates the round-trip data between your avatar and the reference profile and combines it with the bundled Manuka and Shinano profiles (generated with this tool)

- Reference profile - register a new avatar. After updating profiles in OutFitter, two-way routes to every other registered avatar become available

- Between your own avatars - give it the source and target bodies and the target's avatar data JSON

- Body mesh is detected automatically; you can pick a different one in the advanced settings. If your avatar's body has parts cut away (under the default outfit), you can point it at a complete body instead

- Two-way output with relative paths. It refuses to write when references are missing or a same-name file with different content exists, and a cancelled run is kept separate from a successful one

- Quality report after every run

REQUIREMENTS

- Windows / Unity 2022.3

- Avatars must be Humanoid rigs

- Unity package com.unity.nuget.newtonsoft-json (usually already in VRChat projects)

- The generation engine is bundled. No Blender and nothing else to install. Only the optional "Detailed (Python)" mode needs Python with NumPy and SciPy on PATH

- About 20 GB of free disk space

- Same pose on both sides gives the best accuracy (A-pose recommended)

- Generation is heavy: expect roughly 30-40 minutes for one avatar on a typical PC

SETUP

1. Extract the ZIP and import OutFitterProfileMaker.unitypackage into your project

2. Open Tools > OutFitter > Profile Maker

3. Choose your avatar, the target (Manuka / Shinano / reference profile / another avatar) and an output folder

4. Generate, then check the quality report

IMPORTANT NOTES

- A successful run does not guarantee good accuracy. Check the quality report and always test with a real outfit

- The Manuka and Shinano models, outfits and textures are NOT included. To actually convert and wear an outfit you need the outfit and the avatar

- Small / mascot-type avatars, or avatars whose bones sit far from the mesh, may come out less accurate

- Profiles contain shape data of the avatar. Follow each avatar's terms before distributing a profile you generated

- The download is large (about 600MB) because it includes the built-in targets

- Made and tested for VRChat avatars. Other platforms are untested

- UI in English / Japanese (follows your OS language, can be switched)

- This is an independent product. It is not affiliated with any other company's tools, and we cannot answer questions about other companies' tools
