Notice Board - Update your world's bulletin board from a text file on the web (String Loading, no re-upload)

Change the notice, not the world.

Notice Board is a bulletin board gimmick for VRChat worlds that shows a text file hosted on the web. Edit the file, and every board in your world updates itself. Event announcements, weekly schedules, changelogs - no more rebuilding and re-uploading the whole world just to change one line. A straightforward implementation on VRChat's official String Loading API.

FEATURES

- Loads and displays a plain .txt from GitHub Gist (raw), GitHub Pages or your own site

- Start the first line with "# " and it becomes the large title; the rest is the body

- Auto refresh (default every 10 minutes, adjustable) plus manual refresh on Use/Interact

- Shows your fallback text when loading fails, with automatic retries (exponential backoff, up to 3)

- One simple prefab (title + body) that you drop on a wall

- Demo scene generator (Tools > NoticeBoard > Generate Demo Scene)

- English and Japanese editor UI (Tools > NoticeBoard > Language)

HOW IT WORKS

- The board downloads the text with VRCStringDownloader on load, then every N minutes.

- Rate limits are respected: auto refresh is never faster than 60 s, requests never closer than 5 s, manual refresh has a 30 s cooldown.

- No external server of your own is required: a free Gist is enough.

INSTALL

1. Import the unitypackage

2. Run Tools > NoticeBoard > Build Product Assets, then place NoticeBoard.prefab on a wall

3. Paste the URL of your text file into the sourceUrl field of the NoticeBoard component

4. Build. The README walks through hosting the text on Gist / GitHub Pages / your own site.

NOTES

- Use a VRChat trusted domain (GitHub Pages *.github.io, Gist gist.githubusercontent.com, etc.) so everyone can see the board. Other domains only work for visitors who enabled "Allow Untrusted URLs" (details in the README).

- Updates appear at the next refresh (default 10 min interval, or manual refresh). Web/CDN caches can add a few minutes.

- The default TextMeshPro font covers Latin text. For Japanese/Chinese/Korean notices you need a TMP font asset with those glyphs (steps in the README).

- The URL must be set in the Unity Inspector (VRCUrl cannot be created at runtime).
