Parts Splitter for Unity - Split one mesh into toggle-ready parts, preview before cutting, one-click restore (keeps shape keys and weights)

Parts Splitter is a Unity editor extension that breaks a single mesh into separate parts you can toggle on an avatar. Set the split strength, see the cut lines drawn in orange in the Scene view before anything changes, then split. Not happy? One click restores the original.

■ FEATURES

- Preview first: orange lines show exactly where the mesh will be cut, before you commit

- Split by connectivity, sharp angle and UV seams, with a strength slider

- One-click restore to the pre-split state

- Keeps everything that matters: shape keys (names, frames, deltas), bone weights, bind poses, bones / root bone, UV1-4, vertex colors, normals, tangents

- Adds no custom components to the parts or the original mesh (no Missing Script for people without the tool)

- Works on Skinned Mesh Renderer and Mesh Filter

■ REQUIREMENTS

- Unity 2022.3 (developed and tested on 2022.3.22f1)

- Any humanoid or non-humanoid mesh; not limited to VRChat

■ INSTALL

1. Import the unitypackage.

2. Open Tools > Parts Splitter.

3. Select the object, adjust the strength until the preview looks right, press Split.

■ NOTES

- Results depend on the mesh's triangulation after FBX import, so the part count can differ from a Blender split of the same model.

- Back up your project before use.

- No avatar, outfit, material or texture data is included.
