🐈 VRChat Cat World Pet v1.4 — Now Available!

The Cat World Pet Asset v1.4 is here with a major behavior update that makes the cats feel more alive, independent, and interactive than ever!

These fully animated cats can naturally explore your VRChat world, approach and follow nearby players, swim through water, rest in a variety of poses, manage their own needs, jump onto designated spots, and even interact with other cats and dogs.

What’s new in v1.4

Expanded needs system with hunger, thirst, energy, bathroom, play, and social needs

Cats can seek out food bowls, water bowls, beds, litter areas, toys, and social targets

New cat jump spots for beds, toys, and other locations outside the NavMesh

Cats can jump up to elevated destinations and return to the ground afterward

New optional dog and cat interactions

Cats can chase, flee from, greet, and socialize with nearby animals

Multiple personality options, including friendly, playful, shy, neutral, and chaser

Social needs can be satisfied by nearby animals or players

Bathroom behavior can activate assigned waste objects

Improved animation recovery to help prevent animations from becoming stuck

Expanded sitting, lying, sleeping, and bonus idle animation variations

Improved movement transitions and network synchronization

What the cats can do

Freely roam around your world using NavMesh

Select, approach, greet, and follow nearby players

Automatically switch between sneaking, walking, trotting, running, and running at full speed

Detect water and use swimming animations

Sit, lie on their side, lie on their belly, sleep, and play bonus idle animations

Choose from multiple assigned sleeping and play locations

Manage an optional advanced needs system

Jump to off-NavMesh beds, toys, and other designated need locations

Interact with nearby cats and dogs based on their personality

Synchronize movement, destinations, needs, interactions, jumps, and animations across players

Smoothly support ownership transfers and late joiners

Customize movement speeds, behavior timing, needs, interaction chances, jump height, and more

The cats intelligently change their movement speed depending on what they are doing and how far away their destination is. They may quietly sneak or walk while exploring, then trot or run to catch up with a player or chase another animal.

The new personality and interaction systems allow each cat to behave differently. A friendly cat may greet nearby animals, a playful cat may socialize or chase, while a shy cat may run away when another pet approaches.

All of the advanced systems are optional, so the cats can remain simple roaming companions or become fully simulated pets that eat, drink, sleep, play, socialize, use the bathroom, and seek out their preferred destinations.

This update is designed for VRChat world creators looking to add lively animal companions to homes, cafés, shelters, cities, fantasy worlds, social spaces, roleplay environments, and more.
